Testing Technician - Non-destructive Space Hardware Testing (all genders)

Garching
Full-time
Permanent employee

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

THE WHAT
You own the non-destructive testing (NDT) process and analysis of our production parts. You evaluate inspection results, ensure reliable quality decisions, and help improve the processes that prevent COPV failures before they can happen.
You work hands-on with real hardware, inspection methods, and production teams to ensure that every component meets the standards required for aerospace applications.

THE WHY
To end COPV failure in spaceflight.
Every pressure vessel that leaves our production line relies on accurate inspection and reliable quality decisions. Non-destructive testing is where potential issues are found before they become failures.
This role exists to ensure that product quality is verified through precise analysis, structured workflows, and uncompromising attention to detail. Every inspection contributes directly to safer and more reliable hardware.

YOUR IMPACT

You don't just inspect parts. You provide the confidence that they are ready to fly.

You ensure:
  • NDT results are evaluated accurately and consistently
  • inspection findings are documented clearly and traceably
  • quality issues are identified before they reach the customer
  • production and quality teams receive reliable inspection feedback
  • testing and inspection workflows continuously improve
Your tasks in detail and by priority:

Analyze and assess results from non-destructive testing methods such as X-ray and dye penetrant inspection, ensuring reliable quality decisions.
→ Accountability: Every inspection result matters.

Document inspection results clearly, completely, and traceably so that quality decisions can always be understood and reviewed.
→ Candor: Clear documentation creates trust.

Act as an interface between Quality Assurance and Production, providing inspection feedback and helping teams resolve quality-related issues.
→ Togetherness: Quality is a team effort.

Identify opportunities to improve existing inspection methods, reporting standards, and operational processes.
→ Playfulness: Better processes create better results.

Apply inspection procedures with precision and consistency, even under time pressure, ensuring every part is evaluated according to defined standards.
→ High Performance: Accuracy under pressure.
